Data Sources
- COVID-19 cases: We collate COVID-19 data from publicly available data sources: the New York Times, the COVID-19 Data Repository by Johns Hopkins University, the COVID Tracking Project at the Atlantic, the USAFacts, news articles, press releases, and published reports from public health agencies.
- Country mapping coordinates: The U.S. Census Bureau.
- County-level characteristics: We collect and combine county-level auxiliary information from reliable sources: the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics and Descartes Labs.
Data Repository
For public usage, a Github Repository has been established. A copy of the cleaned data set starting from January 22, 2020, has also been included in the R package "cdcar".
